The Chicago Blackhawks fell 3-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night at United Center, losing their sixth consecutive game. Travis Konecny led the Flyers with a goal and an assist, including his 300th career assist.
First Period
Konecny opened the scoring at 10:17 of the first period, just 18 seconds after Philadelphia killed a penalty to Trevor Zegras. Konecny drove down the right side of the slot and tapped in Zegras' cross-ice pass for his 11th goal of the season.
Zegras extended his point streak to a career-high nine games with the assist. He has five goals and six assists during the streak.
Second Period Scoring
Noah Cates extended Philadelphia's lead to 2-0 at 11:13 of the second period with a power-play goal. Despite being tied up by Alex Vlasic, Cates muscled in a shot from the crease after receiving a slick backhand pass from Konecny at the edge of the crease. Jamie Drysdale also assisted on the play.
Ryan Donato cut the deficit to 2-1 at 18:30, ending an 11-game goal drought. During 4-on-4 play with 1:30 remaining in the period, Donato fired in a screened shot from the top of the slot. Matt Grzelcyk and Artyom Levshunov assisted.
Third Period
Chicago was unable to find the equalizer in the third period. Samuel Ersson made several sharp saves to preserve Philadelphia's lead, including a stop on Teuvo Teravainen's one-timer with 3:45 remaining.
Carl Grundstrom sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 17:52, assisted by Sean Couturier and Rasmus Ristolainen, to make it 3-1.
Goaltending
Ersson made 20 saves for Philadelphia, while Spencer Knight stopped 23 shots for Chicago. The Flyers won their second straight game after defeating the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 on Monday, completing a back-to-back.

Chicago played its fifth game without leading scorer Connor Bedard, who is out until at least early January with a shoulder injury. The Blackhawks were also without center Frank Nazar, who was sidelined for four weeks after being struck in the face with a shot Saturday at Ottawa. Captain Nick Foligno remains out with a hand injury.
