Brooks' Late Burst Seals It as Bulls Drop Seventh Straight, 120-110 to Suns

Devin Booker scored 30 points, Jalen Green added 25, and the Phoenix Suns closed the game on an 11-2 run to beat the Chicago Bulls 120-110 on Sunday afternoon at the United Center. Dillon Brooks scored 15 points and delivered the dagger sequence in the final three minutes — a turnaround fadeaway, a three-pointer, and a block on Leonard Miller's put-back attempt. All five Phoenix starters finished in double figures as the Suns (43-35) snapped a two-game skid. Tre Jones led Chicago with 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting. Collin Sexton added 18 points and 9 rebounds, and Miller posted 17 and 10 in a double-double. The Bulls fall to 29-49 with their seventh consecutive loss.

Dillingham Sparked a Comeback — Brooks Killed It

The first quarter was a dead-even 30-30 before Phoenix took control in the second, outscoring Chicago 33-26 behind a combined 23 first-half points from Booker and Green. The Suns pushed the lead to 84-71 late in the third quarter. That's when Rob Dillingham went to work. The rookie guard drove for a reverse layup, then hit a three, then went to the line, and the Bulls ripped off an 11-0 run to pull within two. Suddenly the United Center had a pulse.

Chicago kept it tight into the fourth. With the Suns clinging to a 109-108 lead and about three minutes remaining, Brooks hit a turnaround fadeaway just before the shot clock expired. After Isaac Okoro was called for an offensive foul on the other end, Brooks buried a three to make it 114-108. The Bulls' next possession was a nightmare — Guerschon Yabusele missed a three, Sexton corralled the rebound, and Miller missed a layup, a tip-in, and then had a put-back swatted by Brooks. Booker drilled a three on the other end to make it 117-108 with 1:33 left, and that was the game.

Jones Goes Off, but Missing Pieces Leave Bulls Short-Handed Again

Tre Jones was the best player on the floor for long stretches. He shot 12-of-20, went 4-of-4 from the line, added 6 assists and 2 steals, and scored 17 of his 29 points on fast breaks and in the paint. He's been on a tear in recent weeks and was the only Bull who could consistently create his own shot on Sunday. Miller was active on the glass with 4 offensive rebounds on his way to a 17-and-10 double-double, but the closing sequence — three misses in a row at the rim, capped by Brooks' block — will be the lasting image. Sexton had 18 and 9 boards and continues to be the most consistent of the deadline acquisitions, averaging 17.3 points per game across 21 appearances with Chicago.

Dillingham's 10-point, 4-rebound bench outing was highlighted by his third-quarter run that erased a 13-point deficit. But the Bulls shot just 25.6 percent from three (10-of-39) and committed 19 turnovers that Phoenix converted into 24 points. Patrick Williams was 2-of-8 (0-of-5 from deep) for 5 points with a team-worst -11. Yabusele went 3-of-9 for 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Josh Giddey missed the game with a strained left hamstring — the same issue that sidelined him earlier this season for 19 games and kept him out of Wednesday's loss to Indiana. Matas Buzelis was scratched with an illness. Those two are Chicago's leading scorers and primary creators, and without them the offense ran through Jones and Sexton by default. Anfernee Simons remains out with a fractured left wrist, and Jaden Ivey was waived last week.

Looking Ahead

The Bulls are 29-49 and have now lost seven straight — at Philadelphia (157-137), at Oklahoma City (131-113), at Memphis (125-124), at San Antonio (129-114), at home against Indiana (145-126), at New York (136-96), and now at home against Phoenix. Chicago has allowed 120 or more points in six of those seven losses. Four games remain. The Bulls head to Washington for back-to-back games on Tuesday and Thursday before returning home to host Orlando on Friday and closing the season at Dallas on Sunday.
